Mighty Mites basketball puts on great show!

Our Mighty Mites basketball team welcomed the Abington “C” Division All-Stars to campus for a real “barn-burner” of a double-header on Wednesday night. With many lead changes and lots of drama, it was back and forth for the first game until the All-stars slowly pulled ahead for the win.

The Bears re-grouped during the intermission, worked out a few kinks in their game plan and hit the hardwood with some serious energy in the second match-up. The Bears roared out to a 6-point lead before the young Comets could regain their composure and slowly began to chip away at our lead.

Unfortunately, tired legs left our last few shots just short of the mark and our visitors capitalized again to eke out a second win. Despite the two losses, the smiles on our Bears faces at the end of the night showed that they knew they had played VERY well against a talented team. High fives and chest bumps from our visitors showed their appreciation for our efforts. Great attitudes from all of the kids made it a truly wonderful experience for everyone.

Congratulations to our Bears on a great showing – and a huge thank you to all of our fans and the visiting players, parents and coaches who made the night a memorable event for all!
