Corporate Matching Gift

Corporate matching gift programs are offered to many employees and their families.  Please contact your Human Resources Department to determine whether your donation is eligible for a match from your place of work.

Charitable Annuity

In certain situations, a donor may sign into a contract with The Scranton School to receive a fixed and guaranteed income for an agreed upon amount of time.  In order to be eligible for such an annuity the donor typically makes a gift to the school for no less than $250,000.  This money is invested into the school’s endowment.

Charitable Remainder Trust

Donors who do not wish to transfer assets to the school immediately may enter into an irrevocable Remainder Trust agreement.  The Donor shall remain in control of the assets for a predetermined amount of time. The income may benefit a single individual, a couple or other beneficiaries.  After the agreed upon amount of time expires the remainder of the trust then transfers to The Scranton School.

*Please contact a Certified Public Accountant to see what significant tax benefit you can receive from this type of agreement with The Scranton School.

Pooled Income Fund

By contributing to a pooled income fund, a donor will receive the ordinary income earned by the fund on a quarterly basis for life and an income tax deduction equal to the present value of the amount The Scranton School may expect to receive upon death.

Charitable Lead Trust

A donor may decide to make a “loan” to The Scranton School.  In this agreement, the school will receive interest from the “loan” for a predetermined number of years. Once the agreement expires the “loan” is then transferred to a beneficiary, determined by the donor.

*Please contact a Certified Public Accountant to see how this agreement will significantly decrease your estate and gift taxes when you transfer your wealth to your children or grandchildren.

Planned Gift

Many friends decide to name The Scranton School in their Will for a predetermined percentage or amount of assets.  Planned gifts make significant impacts on the school’s long-term success and help to achieve major initiatives.

Contact the school today to inform us of your decision to name the school in your Will.  We would like to acknowledge your gift immediately.
