Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day!

An Irish proverb said “A good friend is like a four-leaf clover, hard to find and lucky to have.”  We are so lucky to have so many good friends and teachers at The Scranton School!   Our friends  had a great St. Patrick’s day celebration!  Students and teachers wore green and did various St. Patrick’s day related activities.

One of the best activities was making their own leprechaun traps!  Students got creative with coloring in their leprechauns, then cut them out and glued them together.

Our friends made some pretty sophisticated leprechaun traps!  We don’t think any leprechaun could be sneeky enough to get by these traps.  Great job our little  leprechauns!

Spirit Week was in Full Swing!

Spirit Week was back this year at The Scranton School!  Spirit week included: Holiday Day, Neon Day, Wacky Wednesday, Throwback Thursday and Team Color Day.  As always, the school was divided into 2 teams for a little friendly competition. Gold Team & Blue Team were competing for points and bragging rights. Teams could earn points for attire and accessories as well as participating in some really cool in school games and activities.   All points were totaled and the entire school met in the gym to hear the results. Our Spirit Week ended by doing the WAVE with all students and staff and then the winning team was announced.
Congratulations Blue Team!!! You are this year’s Spirit Week winning team!  Check out some of our amazing students and staff and how they showed Spirit!  #ssdhhcspiritweek

Our Barnyard Friends LOVE alpacas! Students and their families had a great morning feeding the alpacas, learning about the farm, roasting marshmallows, making crafts and seeing the beautiful things made from yarn from the alpacas! They even had some special Halloween treats! A special thank you to Ms. Karen Rader and everyone at Pine Valley Alpacas for making learning SO MUCH FUN!

A Trip to the local farmers market for our littlest learners!

Remembering fond memories from last fall……It was the perfect Fall day for the Choices For Children families to visit Kim and Andrew’s Farm Market. Students took a “Pumpkin Walk”, learned about everything that is grown on the farm, had a very tasty snack and picked a special pumpkin to bring home! A BIG “Thank you” to everyone at Kim and Andrew’s Farm Market for sharing their farm with the kids and their families!  We are looking forward to the arrival of spring, warmer weather, and the chance to enjoy the outdoors again.
