A little rain did not damper our first day of school and fun!  Staff enjoyed catching up with students and discovering more about their summer.  Everyone is excited about a brand new school year!   We cannot wait to see the achievements our little bears will bring to the 2022-23 school year.  Have a great year everyone!!

Our Barnyard Friends – with the help of the Master Gardeners – found tomatoes and peppers ready to pick.  Barnyard Friends are very excited to harvest some vegetables from our garden to display at the upcoming Harford Fair.

After picking vegetables to take to the fair, we learned about the Monarch Butterfly life cycle. Our Master Gardeners showed us tiny eggs, a caterpillar and a chrysalis as they explained each step of the life cycle leading up to the beautiful butterfly!

Recently student Taylor B. got an opportunity of a lifetime…she signed the National Anthem at the NACAR Pocono 400 at the Pocono Raceway.  Taylor had the chance to meet some of the drivers and get a “behind the scenes look” at everything that happens at the race.  The highlight for Taylor was meeting her favorite driver,.  To read more about Taylor’s experience click here.

Join us for the 2022 Scranton Golf Tournament!!  We are looking forward to a wonderful day at the Stone Hedge Golf Course in Factoryville, PA.  This event begins at 11:30am with registration, followed by lunch and then a scramble format tee off at 1:00.  Dinner and awards will follow.

All proceeds from the event will directly support the academic, athletic, and extracurricular programs offered to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students at The Scranton School.  Your participation in the golf tournament will make a lasting difference in the lives of our students.

Students did their own silk screening to make school shirts. They added tie dye colors to the shirts and will wear them on an upcoming field trip.  These kids have got some serious tie dye talent!  We love the results and had to share their final products with you all!

The Scranton School had its graduation ceremony for Mr. Josh Evans followed by a congratulatory car receiving line. Mr. Evans had a great time and looks forward to his job after high school.  Congratulations Josh!
